Calm for Cats
Cat Calm combines dried hydrolyzed casein (Lactium, a source of alpha-casozepine), L-tryptophan, and taurine to help promote a calmer, more resilient stress response in cats. Alpha-casozepine is similar in structure to GABA (an inhibitory neurotransmitter) and can bind benzodiazepine receptors in the brain to provide a calming effect. L-tryptophan is a precursor to serotonin, a neurotransmitter that helps regulate mood and stress.
Cat Calm pairs two ingredients that have been studied together in cats — alpha-casozepine and L-tryptophan — rather than relying on just one. Used together, they've been shown to decrease stress-related behaviors and urinary cortisol in cats after 8 weeks, and reduce anxiety response to unfamiliar locations after 4 weeks.
Give one pillow per pound of body weight, daily. We always recommend easing into the full serving size during the first week.
