Pumpkin season isn’t just for us. Not only can our pups can enjoy pumpkin too, this fiber and nutrition packed superfood also has a variety of health benefits for dogs.
We love treating our dogs to a seasonal pumpkin spice latte and pumpkin cheesecake. Try the dog-friendly recipes below - and don't worry, they're Certified Canine Nutritionist approved!
Pumpkin Spice Latte
Ingredients
- 1 cup goat milk or plain kefir
- ¼ cup pumpkin
- ⅓ cup filtered water
- ¼ teaspoon ceylon cinnamon
Directions
- Mix your ingredients together thoroughly.
- For dog friendly whipped cream, whip 2 egg whites until they are fluffy (about 7-10 minutes).
- Sprinkle ceylon cinnamon on top.
Pumpkin Cranberry Bars
Ingredients
- 2 ½ cups oat flour
- ¼ cup pumpkin
- ⅓ cup water
- ½ cup mashed or chopped cranberries
- 2 chicken eggs
Directions
- In a bowl, mix all of the ingredients thoroughly.
- Once thoroughly mixed, fill your molds.
- Bake at 350°F for 50-60 minutes, cool, and let your pups enjoy.
Pumpkin Cheesecake
Ingredients
- ⅓ cup pumpkin
- ½ cup filtered water
- ¾ cup cottage cheese
- ⅔ cup ground unsalted pumpkin seeds
- Optional: 1 teaspoon ceylon cinnamon
Directions
- Mix ground pumpkin seeds & 1 ½ tablespoons of water, then press into mold for "crust".
- Mix together pumpkin, cottage cheese, ceylon cinnamon and remaining water.
- Pour or spoon into molds over the "crust".
- Freeze for 4-6 hours or overnight.
Frozen Candy Corn PUPsicles
Ingredients
- ½ cup plain kefir or goat milk
- ¼ cup pumpkin
- ⅓ cup water
- ½ cup mango puree
- Baby carrots for "sticks"
Directions
- For the white layer, freeze kefir or goat milk in your mold.
- For the orange layer, freeze pumpkin mixed with water in your mold.
- For the yellow layer, add mango puree in your mold.
- Add your baby carrot for the stick and freeze.
